Work Venture's Entry Policy

If you are keen to work and prepared to give your full support then you have an excellent chance of succeeding in open employment. Being able to read or write or having high academic abilities are not needed for a lot of jobs.

To be eligible for employment assistance from Work Venture you must:

  • be assessed as eligible by a Job Capacity Assessment  (there are some specific cases where a Job Capacity Assessment is not required). We can assist to set up an appointment for this assessment for you.
  • not be receiving Intensive Assistance or a service through another DEEWR funded service provider.
  • be keen to work.
  • be aged between 14 and 65 years old.
  • be able to work for at least 8 hours per week in award based employment on an ongoing basis.
  • not be a school student undertaking other school-based VET programs or other educational and training activities or work experience.
  • be an Australian resident or have a permanent VISA.
  • not be currently working to your assessed capacity.

 
  
Things we'd like you to do while you are with us...
  • Be punctual for all your appointments.
  • Participate - you need to become involved in the process of finding YOUR job.
  • Keep in touch with your consultant and tell us if you change your address or telephone number.
  • Attend all appointments with your consultant. If you are  unable to attend any appointments, please let us know as soon as possible and we can make another appointment for you.
  • Tell us if you don't want to, or can't job search for the moment. We can sometimes put your program on hold and restart it again when you are ready.
