Talk to us

If you are interested in learning more, please contact our office and we will arrange to meet you. When you come to Work Venture we will get to know you over a period of time and find out the type of work you would like to do.

You are welcome to bring your parents, guardians, caregivers or partners to any interviews, in fact we encourage you to bring them along.

First Interview

When you have been assessed as eligible and/or your referral to us has been received we will ask you to come for your first interview where we will complete a Client Registration form that will record some information about you. This will include:

  • Your address and telephone number.
  • Your education including any training courses you may have done since leaving school.
  • What type of work you might like to do.
  • Any licences or trade certificates you may have.
  • Some basic medical information.
  • Proof of your identity.
We will also ask you to sign an Authority to Release Information form which gives us your permission to talk to people on your behalf who may be able to provide us with some information which will assist Work Venture to get you a job. These people may include Centrelink, your school or doctor. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian will have to co-sign the form.

You will also receive a copy of your Employment Pathway Plan and it's purpose will be explained to you.

Subsequent Interview

After the first meeting you will be contacted by an EmploymentConsultant who will arrange another meeting. At this interview you will discuss with the consultant your interests, skills and abilities. This will help you and the consultant make some choices about the type of work you might like to do. Together you will update your Employment Pathway Plan.

The plan will:
  • Identify your strengths and weaknesses
  • Identify your employment related goals
  • Identify your personal goals
  • List what may be preventing you from getting a job
  • List what you and Work Venture need to do to get a job

At the end of this interview you and the consultant will have a good idea of your aspirations, skills, interests, abilities and employment goals.
This will enable you to make clear and informed choices about the career path that you would like to follow. We will also know what Work venture and you need to do to achieve these goals. (This may include practising your interview skills, a training course or perhaps some work experience.)
