If you are interested in learning more, please contact our office and we will arrange to meet you. When you come to Work Venture we will get to know you over a period of time and find out the type of work you would like to do.

You are welcome to bring your parents, guardians, caregivers or partners to any interviews, in fact we encourage you to bring them along.

First Interview

When you come for your first interview we will get some information from you. This will include:

  • Your address and telephone number.
  • Where you went to school.
  • What type of work you might like to do.
  • If you have worked before, where, and what you liked or disliked about it.
  • Whether you have had any work experience or done any volunteer work.
  • Any training courses you may have completed since leaving school
  • Your hobbies and interests.
We will also ask you to sign an Authority to Release Information form which gives us your permission to talk to people on your behalf who may be able to provide us with some information which will assist Work Venture get you a job. These people may include Centrelink, your school or doctor. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian will have to sign the form on your behalf.  Gathering this information about you may happen over a couple of interviews.
Subsequent Interview
        At a subsequent interview you will meet your Job Placement Consultant. It is important that you get to know them and feel comfortable with them. This is because you will be working together to find a job.
 
At this interview you will discuss with your Job Placement Consultant your interests, skills and abilities. This will help you and the Job Placement Consultant make some choices about the type of work you might like to do. Together you will complete an Activity Agreement/Employment Agreement Plan.
 
This will:
 
  • Identify your strengths and weaknesses
  • Identify your employment related goals
  • List what is going to prevent you from getting a job
  • What you and Work Venture need to do get a job
  • At the end of this interview you and the Job Placement Consultant will have a good idea of your aspirations, skills,   interests, abilities and employment goals.
  • This will enable you to make clear and informed choices about the career path that you would like to follow.
  • We will also know what Work venture and you need to do to achieve these goals. (This may include practising your interview skills, a training course or perhaps some work experience.)
