Venturing Forward.......

Twenty Two Ipswich women recently graduated from the latest Venturing Forward project armed with new qualifications and skills to offer local employers. Qualifications ranged from Certificate III in Child Care to Certificate III in Business Administration and the certificates were presented by Rachel Nolan MP, Minister for Ipswich and the Lady Mayoress of Ipswich, Janet Pisasale.
Member for Ipswich , Rachel Nolan, said the women, all eager to join the workforce, had taken part in a sixteen week Productivity Places Program project run by Work Venture Qld. "The Productivity Places Program is a joint initiative between the Federal and State Governments to assist people to complete qualifications from a Certificate II to a Diploma, in identified skills shortage areas." Ms Nolan said.
Training Manager Kirsten Wagner said participants included parents and carers who had been out of the workforce for lengthy periods, as well as mature-aged women who needed to re-skill to improve their job opportunities.

Kind Words........
" ...... I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the initial contact you made with me regarding the opportunity to employ someone with a disability through Work Venture Queensland. Having placed Steve into our workforce has been a positive experience and has opened up my eyes to the benefits, both financially for the business and personally for the employee. His enthusiasm for work and reliability has been beyond reproach and we have also gained someone with skillsets relative to our business that can contribute and help our workforce achieve their goals.
I have appreciated the help and ongoing support we have received from your organisation and am proud of the diversity we now have in our workplace as it has promoted understanding and personal growth amongst all of our staff including myself. I think the most outstanding benefit though, is the positive difference that you can make to someone's life in giving them the opportunity to contribute and learn, and to pursue a career.
Once again thanks for the opportunity to employ Steve and thanks to Work Venture Queensland in providing a candidate so closely matched to what we required for our business. Truly a win win situation!"
